We’re moving into what may be one of the longer sections of the book—living in New York City.
In this one, I learn a lesson from Frank Miller, work the graveyard shift, and manage an unhealthy hyperfixation on becoming a comic book writer. In the end, I tease out what it means to be anxious, how it manifests as my Inner Peter Parker cracking jokes during an extremely intense situation, and starting my graduate school era at Brooklyn College.
This is the second part of the book and it’ll run through spring, and the conclusion or third part will conclude at the end of the summer 2026. That’s the plan1. For the references in today’s episode, check this out:
